About Special Forces Heroes, the TV Series
Lord Ashcroft’s extensive collection of Special Forces medals, believed to be the largest in the world, has been used as part of a dramatic reconstruction for a television series about selected dangerous covert military missions on FIVE (November 2008).
The series, called Special Forces Heroes, uses interviews, re-enactments and graphics to reveal four action-packed 50-minute tales, made by Dangerous Films in association with Empire Media Productions.
Focussing on missions that range from Sierra Leone to the Oman, it illustrates key tactics that a crack-force unit rely on to fulfil their orders.
Both FIVE and Discovery Channel UK first aired this series in 2008 in conjunction with the launch of the book of the same name. International distribution is being handled by BBC Worldwide. The full series of Special Forces Heroes is now available to buy on DVD.
