Operation Certain Death

In a feat requiring the specialist covert skills of the SAS and the sheer power of a shock and awe aerial assault, a group of 150 men perform an aerial attack on two rebel villages to save 6 hostages.

In a move that was a massive gamble by the British government the Parachute Regiment and the SAS had to overcome one of the most violent gangs of soldiers in West Africa.

This is the story of a mission, unofficially known as “Operation Certain Death”, that confronted the threat of violent gangs in Sierra Leone and sent a message out to rebels worldwide.
